EVLA and Foam Sclerotherapy Treatment
Quite symptomatic chronic venous insufficiency in her left leg during her last pregnancy and this has improved but still persists. Describes pain, heaviness, swelling, and occasional itchiness. On clinical evaluation there are varicosities around the left ankle and there is mild swelling. Moderately advanced haemosiderin staining noted. A number of venous aneurysms present.
Concerned with varicose veins on ankle from four pregnancies that seemed to be getting worse and affecting the skin in the area. Current condition puts her at risk of future ulceration and chronic skin changes.
Endovenous Laser Ablation & Ultrasound-guided Foam Sclerotherapy
Complete relief of all pre-treatment symptoms, including itch and swelling. Dramatic improvement in the haemosiderin staining around the left ankle. Follow-up ultrasound shows complete closure of all treated veins with no evidence of residual insufficiency. Patient is delighted with results of treatment and will continue with annual sonographic follow-up to maintain these great results.
