RYAN
Specialised Venous Sonographer

Ryan has been working with Dr Luke Matar since 2003 within Radiology practices in WA. Ryan started sonography training in 2006 and has worked within a wide variety of ultrasound including general, musculo-skeletal, fertility, and rural ultrasound. While having a keen interest in most areas of sonography and still providing services within rural WA, Ryan focuses mainly upon vascular ultrasound, especially in the area of the diagnosis of the cause of varicose veins.
He joined Luke at the inception of The Vein Clinic in 2014 after a few years in a commercial role and has been getting busier ever since. Ryan has a passion for detail and together with Luke prides himself on best practices based upon a thorough assessment resulting in a personalised treatment plan.
“I am passionate about using Gold Standard assessment recommendations within ultrasound to diagnose the cause of varicose veins so that patients can enjoy long-lasting treatment results with minimal downtime. I keep abreast of the latest techniques, attending and giving lectures, and believe that Dr Matar is a leader in his field.”

For the past eight years and just prior to joining the team at The Vein Clinic, Gulya was a radiology nurse with a prominent radiology company in Perth where she assisted with ultrasound examinations, coronary angiograms, biopsies, breast screening, injections, MRI and PET/CT examinations.Gulya is passionate about customer service and brings a very warm and friendly approach to clients to make them feel at ease and comfortable with whatever procedure they are having.She is a keen fitness devotee, speaks four languages, and also loves spending time with her grandson and three children.

Medical Administrator Overlord

Angelica is the first point of contact at our busy front desk, greeting our patients and ensuring the administrative side of the clinic runs smoothly and efficiently.She has a background in corporate administration, working with a range of businesses throughout her professional career as an Executive and Administrative Assistant, from multinational corporations to local Perth businesses. These have encompassed a variety of industries, from global software firms, to mining, engineering, and health.
She thrives on assisting our patients throughout all stages of their treatment journey and delivering exceptional customer service. Angelica keeps the ship sailing smoothly and is the friendly face that will greet you for every appointment.
LAURA
Medical & Marketing Assistant

Laura is the all-rounder of The Vein Clinic team and works in multiple areas across the business; marketing, administration, office management, as well as assisting Dr Matar in the treatment room.Her background in medical administration and bachelor’s degree in Communications helps to innovate systems and procedures to best drive the smooth running of the practice and facilitate a cohesive patient experience, as well as promoting the great work Dr Matar delivers to patients.
Her job often involves translating Dr Matar’s ideas and dreams into reality through creative problem-solving. Through her work at The Vein Clinic she has developed a keen interest in procedure assistance and practice management and she looks forward to pursuing dedicated education in these fields to broaden her knowledge and expand on her capabilities.
