Meet the Team

Meet the Team

At The Vein Clinic we have a tight knit team that thrive on making your journey as a patient a warm, welcoming, friendly, and comprehensive experience.

All our patients say at the end of their treatment plan that they feel like part of the family.

We love what we do and we’re eager to meet you and make you feel welcome. Read about Dr Luke Matar and his personal story here, or find out more about our team below.

Specialised Venous Sonographer

Ryan has been working with Dr Luke Matar since 2003 within Radiology practices in WA. Ryan started sonography training in 2006 and has worked within a wide variety of ultrasound including general, musculo-skeletal, fertility, and rural ultrasound. While having a keen interest in most areas of sonography and still providing services within rural WA, Ryan focuses mainly upon vascular ultrasound, especially in the area of the diagnosis of the cause of varicose veins.

He joined Luke at the inception of The Vein Clinic in 2014 after a few years in a commercial role and has been getting busier ever since. Ryan has a passion for detail and together with Luke prides himself on best practices based upon a thorough assessment resulting in a personalised treatment plan.

“I am passionate about using Gold Standard assessment recommendations within ultrasound to diagnose the cause of varicose veins so that patients can enjoy long-lasting treatment results with minimal downtime. I keep abreast of the latest techniques, attending and giving lectures, and believe that Dr Matar is a leader in his field.”

Dr Antoinette Torre

Antoinette has been a GP since 2013 and is involved in various aspects of General Practice. She currently works at The Vein Clinic to help assess initial patients and help prepare them for vein treatment by answering any questions they have, as well as facilitating all necessary specialist referrals and diagnostic imaging requests, saving our patients the time and confusion of organising this paperwork autonomously. She balances work with being a busy mum of five kids.

Medical & Marketing Assistant

Laura is the all-rounder of The Vein Clinic team and works in multiple areas across the business; marketing, administration, office management, as well as assisting Dr Matar in the treatment room. Her background in medical administration and bachelor’s degree in Communications helps to innovate systems and procedures to best drive the smooth running of the practice and facilitate a cohesive patient experience, as well as promoting the great work Dr Matar delivers to patients.

Her job often involves translating Dr Matar’s ideas and dreams into reality through creative problem-solving. Through her work at The Vein Clinic she has developed a keen interest in procedure assistance and practice management and she looks forward to pursuing dedicated education in these fields to broaden her knowledge and expand on her capabilities.
