Phlebectomy Treatment
Case Study
Some heaviness and tiredness in her legs generally compatible with chronic venous insufficiency.
Lighten heavy legs and relieve leg fatigue.
Left leg Ultrasound-guided Ambulatory Phlebectomy without surface vein treatment
Pre-treatment Doppler study showed PAVA (primary avalvular venous anomaly) in the groin and around the GSV feeding into the anterior thigh and shin. Due to anatomy this patient was not suitable for endovenous laser or cyanoacrylate glue. Ultrasound-Guided Foam Sclerotherapy and surface Ambulatory Phlebectomy was performed instead. The procedure was technically difficult as the veins were stuck into the skin. Despite this, initial follow-up showed a good response to treatment, and 2 years later she has maintained a good clinical response and is happy with the results of treatment.
