Has had problems with her veins from approximately the age of 30. She experiences itchiness, leg rash and swelling, predominantly in the left leg. She has a history of previous ligation and stripping of the right great saphenous vein in 2012.
A prominent patch of venous eczema around the left knee immediately superficial to the incompetent intersaphenous veins.

She had a marked reduction in the degree of skin erythema and her symptoms have completely resolved. An excellent response to treatment and this is typical of the response that may be expected in patients with venous eczema once underlying venous insufficiency is treated. Skin redness and inflammation has resolved and pigmentation is expected to fade further.
